Facial vs. Chemical Peel: Which Is Right for Your Skin?
Facials and chemical peels can both leave skin looking refreshed, but they work in different ways and suit different goals. Here's a friendly look at how they compare at Body & Glow Spa in Springfield, using the treatments on our menu, so you can book knowing what to ask for.
The short version
A facial is a customized session of cleansing, care and relaxation built around a skin goal, such as clarifying, brightening, firming or hydrating. Most clients head straight back to their day afterward.
A chemical peel uses a professional exfoliating solution to refresh the surface of your skin. It usually comes with a few days of gentle aftercare, depending on the peel. If dullness or uneven texture is your main focus and you're ready to care for your skin closely for a week, a peel may be worth a conversation.
Still not sure? That's completely fine. Share your goals when you book and ask which is the better fit.

Matching your goal
Breakout-prone skin: the Acne Facial and the Acne Peel are both designed for acne-prone skin. The facial is a gentle place to start, and your esthetician may suggest the peel as a next step.
Dull or uneven-looking tone: the Brightening Facial and Vitamin C Hydrating Facial focus on radiance, while the Bright New You Peel and O2 Oxygen Peel add exfoliation for a brighter look.
Mature-looking skin: the Ageless Facial focuses on hydration and glow, and the Ageless Peel targets texture and dullness. For a firmer, more lifted appearance, ask about the Lifting Facial or HIFU Facial.
Younger skin: the Teen Facial is a gentle option designed for teen skin.
Downtime and aftercare
After most facials, you can go right back to your day. After a peel, plan for about a week of gentle care: a mild cleanser, moisturizer, daily sunscreen, and no picking at any flaking. Follow any aftercare instructions you're given for your peel.
Can you enjoy both?
Many clients enjoy facials and peels at different times. Ask about the order and spacing so your skin has time to settle between visits.
If regular care sounds appealing, our membership is $75 a month with a 3-month minimum. It includes your choice of a rejuvenating Facial or a relaxing Body Wellness Treatment.
